Vicki joined FDM Retreat and Academy on the iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management
We were so proud to welcome Vicki through our doors to be the very first person to see our wonderful Academy!
Vicki registered interest way back when our Academy was being built and although we had to delay her start, she was determined to study with us.
We worked with Vicki to build a schedule that worked for her, allowing her to study alongside her current job and child care.
On Vicki’s first day, we completed the induction paperwork and got straight into practical learning.
Vicki bathed and dried Kara’s dachshund Banger and a toy poodle Pluto – two totally different coat types! Vicki learned how to use the correct bathing procedure, the blaster, the stand drier, ear cleaning and nail clipping.
We spent the next day learning Health and Safety. Vicki learned about relevant legislation in the animal care sector, health and safety and other important information such as biosecurity.
