Kara has been grooming pets for over 14 years. She owns her Award Winning Salon, Fairy Dog Mother, with a team of 15 stylists. Kara was also in series one of BBC’s Pooch Perfect and won Freestyle Champion at Crufts 2026!

Kayleigh Newson

Head of Centre for FDM Academy & Day Care Lead for FDM Retreat

Kayleigh is a qualified teacher, supporting Kara and our students through theory sessions. Kayleigh primarily teaches specialist subjects such as Canine First Aid, Anatomy, Skin and Hair, Health and Diseases. Outside of the classroom, Kayleigh can be found in our Retreat with all the day care dogs!
