I have been wanting to per-sue my carer in dog grooming for a long time, finally with my youngest children off to school I decided now was the time. I am so pleased I have chosen Kara & Kayleigh’s academy they are both so friendly and welcoming,I love that it is a smaller academy as I personally find big spaces with a lot of people a really hard learning environment & you really do get the 1-2-1 feel.The academy is a beautiful space with such lovely personal touches you can see how hard Kara & Kayleigh have worked to transform this into the best place for learning and for the doggies & cats 🙂 I am so excited to continue my course learning from one of the best groomers around!

I’ve had an amazing experience with FDM Academy! Kara and Kayleigh are warm, welcoming, incredibly professional and genuinely lovely people who make you feel right at home. Enrolling in my course was simple and stress free and the team has been wonderfully flexible in tailoring the learning schedule around my full-time job and other commitments.

Jade is a solo mum who needed part time, flexible hours to study

As a solo mum of two, with no family nearby to help and still needing to work around childcare and other commitments, it was beginning to look unlikely that I would be able to pursue my dream of becoming a dog groomer. Most training courses simply didn’t fit my circumstances.

From one-to-one tuition to working in very small classes of just two or three students, I have had the opportunity to groom a wide variety of dogs, gaining invaluable hands-on experience, confidence and skills along the way. The support and guidance I have received whilst in the process of setting up my own dog grooming business have been invaluable, and I know that support won’t simply stop once my course ends.

Churro’s mum was looking for a smaller, bespoke day care

It is so nice to see her get excited in the mornings when we say “are you going to school today?” She runs to the door and straight to the car. She has a great day and is calm and relaxed as soon as I collect her.

This was never the case at previous settings so I cannot praise FDM enough. They let me know open and honestly how Churro has got on throughout the day and the handover is never rushed.

Wilbur’s mum was looking for day care to help her older dog feel young again

Just WOW!! This is the crème de la crème of Doggy Daycare! Kara and her team are incredible. The induction is so thorough so they really get to know your dog and what makes them tick. The centre is immaculate and they’ve thought of every last detail: I particularly love the ‘comfy’ room with arm chairs, flame effect fire and TV – a real pooch home from home! My pup is on the older side (nearly 10) and I feel like he’s having the opportunity to really enjoy his later life and still find the puppy within!!

My Terrier has been going to FDM since the daycare started back in January.
I can’t fault Kayleigh, Kara or any of the staff, who have been outstanding.
My dog is very happy there, gets lots of exercise, attention and care, plus always comes home happy and tired!

Our dog, Albie, has previously been to Fairy Dog Mother so we thought we’d give the Academy a try. We were so pleased with his groom. Details of drop off and collection were super prompt and easy. The student groomer interviewed us and settled Albie beforehand. The groom was nothing short of excellent and Albie (who can be a bit nervous) was so happy when we collected him. What a fantastic idea and we will definitely be back. A very reasonably priced groom for such excellent service and results!

Just used this academy for grooming my yorkshire Fudge. I can not complement them enough. Friendly , cheap and an excellent job done. She looks like a different dog. Will happy use again and reccommend them.
