Course Description

Over 30 days, this course takes complete novices through to becoming qualified, professional dog groomers. You’ll cover all the skills, techniques, and methods needed for a successful grooming career.

If your ambition is to become a professional dog groomer and start your career with the strongest possible foundation, this is the course for you. Training in our Academy, you’ll be guided by experienced Educators through our trusted programme, and supported in achieving a nationally and industry-recognised qualification in dog grooming.

You’ll groom a minimum of 20 dogs, covering at least 6 different coat types while building your confidence and refining your skills — because practice makes perfect!

Flexible and comprehensive, the course ensures you leave equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to hand strip and groom a wide variety of breeds to a high standard.

Course Breakdown

Course length: 30 days at FDM Academy

Training Time: 9.00am – 4.00pm

Availability: We offer flexibility, depending on our current bookings.

Study mode: In person practical training and online through your e-portfolio

Eligibility to complete this course: Learners must be aged 16 or above and able to follow Tutor instruction. They must be comfortable around dogs of all sizes, breeds and temperaments and able to work at level 3.
