We’re so excited to welcome Gemma to the FDM Pet Retreat & Academy family as she begins her journey on the iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming & Salon Management!
Gemma first discovered us after we popped up on her Instagram feed – and we’re so glad we did! After chatting with her current groomer about her plans, it turns out they were also interested in joining us soon to complete their Cat Grooming qualification. It’s always amazing to see how word spreads through our community of passionate pet professionals.
As a busy working professional, Gemma needed a training schedule that fit around her current job.
That’s why we’ve tailored her learning plan to include a mix of Saturday sessions and evening classes, making sure her training works around her lifestyle while still giving her plenty of hands-on experience.
On her first day, Gemma jumped straight in — bathing, drying, and clipping the nails and pads of an adorable Miniature Poodle. Gemma made sure the dog’s welfare was cared for at every stage, keeping the Miniature Poodle calm, comfortable, and happy throughout the grooming process.
She showed great confidence and enthusiasm from the start (and of course, there was time for a cheeky Costa coffee break ☕🐶).
We can’t wait to see Gemma’s progress over the coming weeks as she builds her skills, grows in confidence, and works towards becoming a fully qualified dog groomer.
