We are delighted to announce the upcoming opening of our luxury dog day care retreat in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, officially opening on 12th January.
Designed exclusively for small to medium breed dogs, our retreat offers a calm, structured, and highly personalised alternative to traditional dog day care. As we prepare to open fully, we have already been incredibly fortunate to welcome five dogs who have registered with us and successfully completed their mini break (trial session).
These early visits have allowed us to fine-tune our routines, build trusted relationships with owners, and ensure every dog receives the highest standard of care from day one.

We believe outstanding dog care begins with understanding. Every new client starts with a structured registration process, beginning with an hour-long in-person consultation at our premises in St Ives.
During this consultation, we take the time to discuss everything related to your dog, including:
- Daily routine, behaviour, and personality
- Health, diet, and medical requirements
- Social history and previous day care experiences
- Owner expectations, concerns, and long-term needs
This visit is also an opportunity for owners to view our facilities, meet our team, and feel confident that their dog will receive professional, attentive care.
Our 3-Step Behavioural Assessment
As part of our registration process, each dog completes a three-step behavioural assessment. This ensures suitability for our retreat and allows us to tailor care to each dog’s needs.
The assessment focuses on:
- Individual temperament and behaviour
- Comfort within the environment and with handlers
- Appropriate social interaction with other dogs
This careful approach supports the safety and wellbeing of all dogs in our care.
Mini Break (Trial Session): A Gentle Introduction
Following the consultation and assessment, dogs are booked in for a mini break, which acts as a trial session at our dog day care retreat.
Mini breaks allow:
- Dogs to settle gradually and positively
- Owners to feel reassured and confident
- Our team to continue learning how best to support each dog
At every stage, we work closely with owners to ensure they feel informed, comfortable, and confident that we can provide the best possible care for their pet.
